Caterpillar recently announced it is opening a new remanufacturing facility in Corinth.

Representing a $14.8 million investment, Caterpillar will employ 30 workers at the new facility. The company already employs 1,200 workers at four manufacturing facilities in the city.

Founded in 1905 in San Francisco, Caterpillar manufactures construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives.

Named Corinth Caterpillar Plant No. 2, the company will remanufacture the 42,000-pound, 20-cylinder, 4,000-horsepower C175 engine.
