Horn Lake’s GreenTech is getting tighter with China

GreenTech Automotive‘s (GTA) electric car operations is about to get even bigger. The company extended its partnership with Chinese automaker Jianghui Automotive Co. Ltd (JAC).
Mississippi’s Business Journal reports the two companies will jointly manufacture electric vehicles in Tunica next year and will hire 250 additional employees.
The new venture will focus on developing a 4-door, all-electric vehicle for the North American market. GTA and JAC’s contract is an extension of an existing partnership between the companies, which first formed in 2012 and was formalized in April 2013.
GTA is a U.S.-based automotive manufacturer dedicated to developing and producing environmentally friendly, energy-efficient vehicles. The company operates a manufacturing facility in Horn Lake, Miss., and is constructing a new manufacturing facility in Tunica, Miss.
JAC is a comprehensive automaker with a full line of independent brand vehicles in China.
It has achieved an annual production capacity of more than 700,000 units and annual engine capacity of more than 500,000 units. The company ranked in the top 10 of the Chinese auto industry.
